Spark
Laser Discectomy Device
Diode laser for disc decompression
Spark laser discectomy is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia to reduce intradiscal pressure using a laser.
Detailed specifications
It is a revolutionary laser system specially designed for the minimally invasive treatment of vertebral disc prolapse. The laser procedure is effective, fast, and safe, reducing intradiscal pressure by shrinkage caused by laser energy.
Reduction of intradiscal pressure with laser is a salvage method in intravertebral surgery. A small portion of the nucleus pulposus is vaporized to relieve pressure in an outpatient minimally invasive procedure under local anesthesia.
Optimal wavelength
It works with a 980nm laser diode, which is the most suitable wavelength for vertebral disc decompression. Its greater absorption by chromophore water (five times more than 810nm laser and two times more than 1064nm) means less laser energy is needed to perform treatments, emitting lower heat to surrounding tissue and reducing side effects.
Reasons for Preference
It has an ergonomic handpiece to eliminate intradiscal pressure caused by disc evaporation.
External power meter to control fiber output before input.
Special system to keep fiber optic sterile during power test.
Control of statistical pulse number, total applied energy, and emission time.
Intuitive and easy-to-use program.
Minimally invasive outpatient procedure
SparkⓇlaser discectomy is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia to reduce intradiscal pressure using a laser. An optical fiber is inserted through a needle into the affected disc to vaporize a small portion of the nucleus pulposus, significantly reducing the intradiscal pressure.
